People, Culture & Business Services Manager

This exciting opportunity is available to lead a passionate team at the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) based in beautiful Bargara, Queensland.
The BMRG is the peak body for natural resource management within the Burnett Mary region. Established in 2001, we are one of 54 national not-for-profit regional bodies providing an essential link between the community and various programs procured by Government and other funding sources. As a self-motivated, continuous improvement orientated individual with exceptional people skills you will thrive in this busy and rewarding role.

The role of People, Culture and Business Services will play a significant role in supporting BMRG’s efforts to reach its goal to protect and enhance the agricultural and natural environment of the Burnett Mary region for future generations. The role is a full-time position and will be a key member of our Senior Management Team.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide leadership and direction to a small team of human resources, communications, and administration professionals keen to develop and grow.
  • Provide human resources strategic advice, coaching and HR assistance to all managers and the BMRG team.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, internal HR systems and processes.
  • Lead the BMRG’s communications and marketing efforts, including employee communications, to ensure the excellent work of the BMRG team is shared with all stakeholders.
  • Lead the organisation’s approach to health, safety and care for employees.
  • Manage the organisation’s key services, many of which are outsourced, including information technology, legal, and support on financial services.
  • Lead the administration team and support board governance as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or similar
  • Ideally you will have experience managing communications, marketing or similar functions.
  • Someone who has broad experience in leading human resources and other functions in a business, government or not for profit environment is welcome to apply.
