About The Role

Within the Corporate Finance and Restructuring segment, FTI Consulting have a specialised agribusiness team that works with investors and companies to explore opportunities across Australia, Asia, South America and beyond.

FTI Consulting's agribusiness team combine genuine experience on-farm and in the boardroom to provide expert agribusiness advice to clients of all sizes and structures. Our clients include major financial institutions, asset managers, law firms and medium-to-large family farming operators.

As a Senior Consultant, you will supervise, execute and complete client engagements, with responsibility for day-to-day activities. You will undertake financial analysis, prepare reports and assist in supervising the work of junior staff. You will work directly with senior members of the team, and receive internal training, support and on-the-job coaching and mentoring.

What You'll Do

  • Act as appointed contact and manage day to day issues on engagements
  • Reconstruct complex accounting records from incomplete information
  • Perform interviews and participate in client meetings Undertake company and industry analysis
  • Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis and financial and cash flow modelling
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations, and other written correspondence
  • Assist in project planning and management of the duties of the junior staff
  • Supervise and review the work of junior staff and provide coaching to junior team members Interact with clients, including lawyers, in house counsel and accounting personnel
  • Undertake networking and marketing activities to develop professional contacts
  • Assist senior team members with new business development activities
  • Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities
  • Maintain professional image within the firm and project the same to those outside the firm


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics, and a recognised professional accounting qualification
  • 5-6 years of professional experience. Exposure to Food & Agribusiness industry is preferred
  • Experience with formal appointments, M&A transactions and restructuring
  • Strong report writing and financial modelling skills are essential
  • Experience managing small teams working on client site
  • Ability to work on multiple client matters at the same time
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism
  • Willingness to travel when needed
  • Proactiveness to deal with outstanding matters
