Product Sales Specialist, On-demand Delivery

Uber - Richmond, NSW

Source: uWorkin

About The Team

Uber has recently launched 'Uber Direct, a last-mile delivery service for business customers. The last-mile delivery market (B2C, B2B) is estimated to be worth upwards of $7.5b AUD in Australia, with rapidly increasing consumer preference for on-demand (not just same-day/next-day) services. Uber Direct has the potential to support on-demand delivery across a range of customer verticals - restaurants, supermarkets, non-food retailers, and many more use cases yet to be discovered.

About The Role

In this role, you’ll be the customer facing champion for the Uber Direct product. Partnering with Account Executives and Account Managers across multiple customer verticals, you will drive both new sales and adoption of Uber Direct. Your day will be spent communicating the Direct product features and capabilities, working to integrate Uber Direct into the customer experience of merchants, and any other initiatives that grow our merchant’s on-demand delivery businesses.

What You'll Do

  • Become the expert on the product capabilities of Uber Direct, then clearly communicate these capabilities to both merchants and our internal sales & success teams.
  • Partner with Account Executives to close new business for Uber Direct.
  • Partner with Account Managers to drive the adoption and continued growth of Uber Direct.
  • Support the rollout of new product features and enhancements.
  • Support merchants with implementation of an on-demand delivery program - you don’t need a software background, but shouldn’t be afraid of getting in the details of operational and technical systems.
  • Be proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial in looking for new growth opportunities for the merchants you work with.

What You'll Need
  • A proven track record: You'll have 4-7 years of sales, account management, business management, or operations experience in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in or with B2B sales teams: You’ll be working closely with both sales teams and merchants, ensuring they’re set up for success.
  • Willingness and confidence to be customer facing: You’ll be required to quickly build trust with partner merchants as the product expert for Uber Direct, and our sales teams will rely on your clear and effective communication.
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity: Launching a new business isn't easy, and there isn't an existing plan for you to follow. You'll have the support of your manager and cross-functional partners, however you'll need to be the one driving this forward.
  • Attention to detail, and a willingness to 'roll up your sleeves': You'll need to jump into the weeds when things "just need to get done"
  • Customer obsession: You won't be expected to know everything (yet), however you'll have a strong appetite to understand and learn the industries and customers you're working with and the experience they're having on the platform.
  • Previous experience in last-mile (shipper or carrier side) or general logistics is a plus, but not required.
