Our Defence and Social Infrastructure team service the Australian Defence Force by providing Facilities Maintenance for Defence sites and buildings. Our Defence team carry out complex works and projects to support a high-quality delivery of our services.

We are now seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to provide Technical support to the Regional Asset Management Office to assist in supporting the AMO in delivery of services against the pillars of Asset Management and Optimisation. This is a permanent full-time role, based in Melbourne VIC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in Asset Appraisals/ Condition assessments as per the monthly schedule and provide recommendations
  • Conduct monthly Asbestos condition inspections/appraisals and provide recommendations
  • Maintain records and Metrics for all relevant engineering technical items in the region.
  • Provide technical (Civil/ Structural) Support to operations (Estate Upkeep staff) where required.
  • Assist in simple Project Management Oversight and Management.
  • Lead Investigations for root cause analysis into failures.
  • Assist in data analysis of Asset performance across relevant disciplines applicable to engineering field of specialisation.
Skills & competencies required:
  • Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalency in related discipline
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated written technical communication and IT skills.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous work estimation experience will be an added advantage
