Position Summary

We are now looking to appoint an experienced nursing professional to the role of Haematology Clinical Nurse Consultant (Haematology Inpatient and Outpatients). This is a permanent (ongoing) role, working full time hours and is based at MOnash Medical Centre, Clayton.

About the role

Through building and developing close working relationships with ward based medical, nursing and allied health teams, the Haematology Clinical Nurse Consultant supports and educates haematology patients and their carers from diagnosis and throughout their disease journey. This occurs in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Education and information provision to patients and their carers
  • Assessments and referrals: physical and pyscho-social
  • Coordination of blood tests, blood product support, diagnostic investigations and medication management
  • Liaising with the Haematology Consultants, Registrars and the Medical infusion centres and Chemotherapy Day Units across all sites.
  • Assisting with streamlining the patients' care
  • Supervision and education of nursing staff in the delivery of cancer therapies
About you

You have a passion for individualised patient centre care supported by significant haematology/oncology nursing experience in the acute setting.

You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles

What You Need:
  • Postgraduate Qualification in Cancer Nursing (or working towards same)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
