A newly created opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager – Independent Retail, to join the Mars Petcare Sales team to be based in Adelaide, to help deliver sustainable growth across the large portfolio of Petcare’s brands for both Mars and our extensive customer base. 


This critical customer facing role will see you will manage and develop key relationships with our Independent Retail customers, leveraging your contacts and current network to ensure the longevity of these strong relationships, whilst collaborating and influencing at a senior level. 


What would be your key responsibilities?

• End to end account management including pricing, promotions, category management, field execution plans, NPD and distribution

• Development of trading terms and joint business planning solutions that drive long term growth for Mars and the customer

• Activation planning and delivery of growth ambitions in emerging and partner segments of our channel

• Be a key senior support to mentor other Customer Development Managers in the team


What are we looking for?

• Substantial account management experience in the consumer goods space (Independent retail advantageous)

• Exceptional relationship building abilities both internally and externally to champion the voice of the customer

• High level of planning and prioritisation skills with a strong attention to detail

• An energetic salesperson who is a seasoned negotiator and can influence at all levels


This senior Accounts role might suit someone with significant experience to come in and hit the ground running, to start building those critical relationships straight away. You will have lots of autonomy and flexibility to do your role and be empowered to find mutual growth solutions that work for both the customer and for Mars.
