This is a key role within the Primary Connect Finance team with genuine business partnering opportunities and contribution to the broader finance strategy.

About the role

You will provide and leverage strategic, analytical and financial appraisal and insights. Act as a key business partner and leader within Primary Connect and across all related commercial and finance divisions to build collaborative relationships relating to the Distribution Centre operations. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Accurately managing financial reporting and data for costs, with a specific focus on understanding key drivers and providing insights 
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Site Leadership Team with driving the forecasting and budgeting processes for Distribution Centre Costs costs 
  • Lead a Finance Admin team member to identify, develop and implement opportunities and recommendations to improve the business, financial metrics, systems and reporting tools 
  • Supporting the Zone Commercial Manager and Supply Chain Manager with providing coaching and support to team members across finance and operational functions to build their knowledge and ability to positively influence Primary Freight operations 
  • Working collaboratively with team members and other business partners to achieve business objectives
  • Providing decision support and being an effective Finance Business Partner to the NSW Primary Connect leadership team 
  • Providing timely and accurate analytical support for business cases, network solutions and impacts and benefits tracking 

About you 

You are a commercially minded analyst and able to work with multiple sources of data to provide insight. You have demonstrated planning and problem solving skills including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

  • Accounting / Finance degree, preferably CPA or CA qualified 
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in commercial or financial analyst roles
  • Demonstrated achievements in analytical and conceptual finance with experience in financial, variance and forecasting analysis 
  • Confident and competent in managing large volumes of data
  • An ability to provide relevant, timely and insightful commentary that drives change and delivers results 
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage business relationships with internal and 
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (e.g. Google Sheets, Slides, Docs) and/or Microsoft Office (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
