About the role

Mater at Home currently have a wonderful part time (18 hours per week) 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a Psychologist to join the team.

You will deliver a quality psychology service to the Mater at Home (MAH) client population, as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach, which promotes an integrated service to clients along the continuum of care. The MAH psychologist sees patients experiencing a range of psychological issues and disorders on a short-medium term basis in the community.

Specifically, the role requires delivery of high quality community based psychology services to a diverse range of clients, including consumers of the NDIS, privately funded consumers seeking treatment in the community, as well as recipients of other government funding schemes (including Commonwealth Home Support Program, Home Care Packages, and Hospital in the Home).

Salary range: $32.51 - $49.13 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver psychological clinical services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, case management and referral across several multidisciplinary MAH team according to clinical need and in keeping with prescribed professional and ethical standards
  • Provide input in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols
  • Actively participate in the multidisciplinary team, working co-operatively and effectively with colleagues, clients, their families and external agencies
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within teams and engaging in professional development activities
  • Manage a clinical workload within a geographical area under the supervision of the Social Work and Psychology Team Leader
  • Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of psychology services at Mater at Home

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

  • Possession of post-graduate qualifications (e.g. Masters degree, Psych, PhD) from an APAC-accredited psychology training program or equivalent is highly desirable, especially in the area(s) of clinical psychology, and/or health psychology is highly desirable
  • Hold or be eligible to receive a current Blue Card
  • Hold a current open Queensland Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to expand knowledge and clinical expertise in order to manage the diverse range of clients serviced by Mater at Home, with the support and guidance of more senior Psychologists
