Senior Manager, Credit Risk, Auto Finance

Your role as Senior Manager, Credit Risk sits in Line 2 Risk with dedicated focus on the Auto Finance business. In this role you will be responsible for managing credit risk policy, portfolio oversight and insights for Auto Finance retail consumer, commercial and novated portfolios.

You will lead the Credit Risk Portfolio Management team and engage business stakeholders including Sales, Product, Credit Decisioning and Collection teams and working with Finance, Legal and Compliance

How will I help?

  • Lead analysis and reporting that provides interpretation of significant portfolio performance trends and drivers for business insights and decision making.
  • Development of various papers, reviews and proposals to senior management, AF Risk Committee including Risk Appetite reviews and annual Product Programs.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and monitor relevant credit policies in line with strategy and risk appetite settings for the Auto Finance portfolio ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Ensure models, calculators, business rules and parameters are regularly monitored, reviewed, validated, and updated to reflect policy requirements and balance prudent risk management with process efficiencies and business strategy.
  • Deliver robust analysis and reporting that provide interpretation of significant portfolio performance trends and drivers for business insights and decision making.
  • Review, monitor and analyse portfolio provisioning outcomes for drivers of impairment charges, recoveries and for collections strategy.

What do I need?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent credit risk experience.
  • Data, analytical, reporting and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of risk management tools and systems
  • Proficient with credit policy and business lending origination processes.
  • Strong understanding of lending practices.
  • Experience managing people and driving results.
  • Understanding of Auto/Retail Finance products, lending and collections is desirable.
