We are seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter to join our team in Brisbane for a fixed term 6 month contract with view to extend, dependent upon skill and adaptability to GT working environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to design equipment, modelling and detail drawings as well as assist with plant layouts for Glencore Technology’s range of mining plants and equipment. Experience in piping, structural and P&ID’s is advantageous. The successful candidate will work as part of a team consisting of process and mechanical engineers and drafters implementing our design office standards.

You will be responsible for:
  • Designing equipment, modelling and detail drawings
  • Assist with plant layouts for a range of mining plants and equipment
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Drafting certification with at least five years’ experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Autodesk Inventor
  • Prior experience in Autodesk Plant 3D, AutoPlant, Navisworks or Autodesk Advanced Steel is an advantage
  • Prior experience in the mining industry is an advantage
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work to a tight deadline
