Duties

The Manager Regulatory, Compliance and Performance supports the Director and the Tasmanian Economic Regulator in ensuring that the economic regulatory regimes for the electricity, gas and water and sewerage industries in Tasmania are fit for purpose and effective.

In the context of the selection criteria, to be successful in the position applicants will:

  • identify strategic and policy issues in relation to the development and administration of the licences, codes and other instruments that regulate the electricity, gas and water and sewerage industries in Tasmania with due regard to stakeholder expectations;
  • promote a transparent, robust and accountable regulatory regime that supports competition within the gas and electricity industries, encourages consultation with stakeholders, promotes compliance with statutory obligations and adapts to on-going energy reforms;
  • ensure that performance reports for the electricity, gas and water and sewerage industries are thorough and promote the objectives of the Tasmanian Economic Regulator; and
  • assist with the management of the Office to seek to ensure that regulatory arrangements support the maintenance and development of safe, reliable and efficient industries under the oversight of the Tasmanian Economic Regulator and deliver fair outcomes for all stakeholders.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Highly desirable - completion or partial completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
