The Opportunity

The Philanthropy Program Manager is a new position within the LifeFlight, reporting to the Executive Manager Fundraising, and working with the LifeFlight Foundation team. The role has been created to develop, establish, and carry out an effective multi-year fundraising program through philanthropic relationships to support the on-going program, projects, and activities of the organisation.

The position will be based predominately out of the offices in Robina, Gold Coast with regular interactions in Brisbane and travel to other regional offices. The role will also involve travel for face- to-face engagement with donors, sponsors and ambassadors.

Typical duties include:

  • Develop a philanthropic relationship management strategy;
  • Develop and successfully carry out the Fundraising Strategy, working closely with the Leadership team in the development and execution phases;
  • Secure commitments of donation and/or participation from individuals and corporate donors;
  • Support the Philanthropy Relationship Managers (this role has 2 direct reports).

About You

To be successful in this role you need to satisfy the essential selection criteria with the PD. Importantly, to apply for this role you must have:


  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in relationship management and proven success with high-value income generation in not for profit or corporate.
  • Experience in managing Philanthropic relationship managers.
  • Demonstrated practice of the philanthropic “moves management” process.
  • Experience in completing a major gift solicitation.
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience in, direct marketing, segmentation and tailoring communications and contact accordingly.
  • High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with relevant financial management including budgets, financial reporting, planning, and forecasting.
  • Strong computer skills in working with CRM database and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as required.
  • QLD drivers licence
