Senior Tax Accountant


Reports to: Head of Finance - Pacific


Job Purpose:

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for Taxation compliance in Australia. We are looking to hire a tax specialist who can handle the tax affairs for the Australian entities supported by group tax in the UK and our external tax partners. The role will also include working with the Senior Accountant around financial reporting requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Finance – Pacific, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Direct Tax – working with UK Corporate Tax team and outsourced partners to prepare tax provisions, tax calculations

• Indirect tax – responsible for preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS/ CAS, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, FBT

• Monthly Transfer Pricing responsibilities – The Australian Entity is an IP Holder.

• Supporting outsourced partners in relation to R&D tax incentives/ credits.

• Specialist Tax Projects as required

• Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies when required

• Implementing a local indirect tax framework

• Working with internal and external auditors

• Assisting Head of Finance and Senior Accountant as required with Statutory and Corporate reporting requirements.

• Identifying opportunities for process improvement, creating local process documentation and ensuring adequate record keeping.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

The successful candidate will have a passion for taxation, exceptional attention to detail and will have the opportunity to make this role their own. You will be

• CA/ CPA Qualified

• 3-5 years’ experience in either a commercial tax role or within an accounting firm.
