Manager, Infrastructure on-going contract with South Australia Police.

ORGANISATION

South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services are aimed at producing a safe and peaceful environment by the minimisation of crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation which, because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24 hour a day basis.

ROLE

As the Manager Infrastructure you will lead staff and vendors to support the critical infrastructure within SAPOL including physical hardware and facilities, data storage, retrieval, network systems, legacy systems/applications and telecommunication. This role will have you managing a team of 12-15, with 2 direct reports and will involve working closely with the Head of Operational Services and Enterprise Architects.

You will be working on a large transition journey including Cloud technologies. This role will have you leading a team through the transition of change in technology and processes. For this role, you will be adept at building relationships and provide effective leadership to technical experts, whilst working with SAPOL stakeholders and IS&T leaders to ensure effective operational policies, procedures and processes are in place. Whilst you do not require business facing leadership experience, you will come from a technical background having worked within infrastructure.

This is a great opportunity to join a large and complex environment during a period of transition. You will be responsible for direct staff who are very competent within their roles. This is a newly created position and is the perfect opportunity to make an impact on implementation of best practices in infrastructure management and maintenance to maximize availability and performance.

SUCCESS

Successful record of identifying customer needs, developing service strategies and, providing quality customer service in a public or private sector environment.

Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency and service delivery across an IT infrastructure environment.
Demonstrate experience in leading and managing teams including the
performance and development of staff, determining priorities and strategic plans, setting goals and achieving agreed outcomes.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including documentation that will be delivered to a range of audiences throughout the organisation.
Demonstrated ability to think analytically, lead and manage staff performance and determine priorities.
Knowledge or experience of the processes to undertake a large infrastructure transformation to the cloud.
Experience managing network and storage transitions and operations in cloud or hybrid environments.

SALARY

MAS3 $120,467 per annum plus superannuation
