Manager, Quality and Assurance contract to December 2021 with South Australia Police

Your new company
It's never been a more exciting time to join the South Australia Police, Information, Systems and Technology Service. SAPOL provides a diverse range of services to the community aimed at providing a safe and peaceful environment. The Information, Systems and Technology Service are transforming and are seeking new skills and attributes to enhance the ICT approach for the organisation.

Your new role
The Manager, Quality and Assurance will be responsible for managing the newly created Quality and Assurance Branch to deliver services across IS&T including testing, IT contract management, asset management (including software licensing), and change, release & environment management. This role will evolve internal frameworks to drive the whole end to end lifecycle for quality including environment management and change and release management. This is a great opportunity to join SAPOL and help to provide robust and reliable systems across the department.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience operating under very broad direction and exercising significant levels of independent judgement and delegated authority in the allocation and management of both financial and human resources for a function of critical importance to the agency and the public sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategically managing and improving ICT services including establishing quality frameworks, operational policies and procedures to deliver operational efficiencies across an organisation.
  • Extensive experience in managing contracts in a public service setting including monitoring against established contractual KPIs and driving value.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary principles for, and practical experience managing in, an SDLC and ITIL environment.
  • Successful record of identifying customer needs, developing service strategies, and providing quality customer services in either a public or private sector environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant government policies and procedures relating to, and extensive experience in, budget planning, financial management, workforce management, technology strategies and business case development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to explain and impart information and communicate complex technical ICT concepts in a professional manner to a wide range of audiences, including the development of documentation to a high standard.
  • Demonstrated ability in exercising strategic, analytical, lateral and innovative thinking and actions when analysing and identifying business solutions.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in leading and managing teams including the performance and development of staff, determining priorities and strategic plans, setting goals and achieving agreed outcomes.
