How will I help?

As a Senior Analyst in the Consumer & Business Marketing Analytics team (CBMA), you will support and advise our Marketing partners on their customer targeted initiatives through direct marketing and digital channels, and will strengthen Westpac’s information and analytical approach to provide business partners and customers with self-serve information, efficient outputs and effective execution.
This role will enable Westpac to become data-driven, by infusing information and analytics across the business and will be responsible for unlocking value from data and analytics assets.

Core Responsibilities will include –

  • Extracting & analysing data for customer communications using Teradata SQL, together with an understanding of campaign management tools
  • Developing a detailed understanding of the Westpac databases, data structures and core analytical procedures
  • Presenting Optimisation results back to all stakeholders on campaign performance, outlining key findings and suggestions for improvement. Good data visualisation skills e.g. Tableau, a nice to have.
  • Developing and presenting new options or opportunities for stakeholders to leverage data and capabilities of Data Analytics
  • Minimising risk by providing suggestions or improvements via greater standardisation, speed, simplicity or automation of Analysis/Data and Campaign processes
  • A high attention to detail to perform self and peer Quality Assurance (QA) checks on key business selection rules and campaign technical set-up
  • Maintaining documentation & contributing to the existing knowledge and process library documentation, usually via a team Confluence site
  • Building, maintaining and deepening relationships with key stakeholders and cross functional teams
  • Influencing, challenging, and guiding stakeholders on a course of action that provides an optimal business outcome
  • Ability to work in an Agile team environment and embed Data Platforms best practice and ideas within this team

What do I need?

  • A passion and focus on customer centric design along with the energy and drive to help influence campaigns that align to best customer experiences
  • Significant experince in SQL or Teradata and MS Applications
  • Experience in Python / R
  • Expeirience in campaign management software
  • Experience of working in agile environments and knowledge of Scrum Agile Methodology
  • Extensive knowledge in Direct Marketing or Lead Management and customer targeting
  • Extensive knowledge of various analytics and problem-solving techniques
  • Prior experience in Banking & Finance Industry is good to have
