Are you looking for an opportunity where you can influence and drive key financial and commercial outcomes? At Boral Concrete we are looking to engage a Senior Commercial Analyst to be based in Port Melbourne.

Supporting the GM of Commercial Finance, the GM of Concrete, and the Concrete Operations team, you will assist in driving business performance including supporting Boral's Continuous and Value Improvement Programs through the timely provision of reporting and financial insight. In this role, you will work closely with the business to deliver financial results and meet operational KPIs.

Key accountabilities of the role include (not limited to):

  • Work with Finance GM and Concrete GM to deliver the Concrete business strategy, through the identification of financial insights and critical review of business performance.
  • Use financial targets, benchmarks, models, and performance metrics to drive Concrete business' strategic decision making and performance.
  • Use appropriate communication forums and methods to keep the region leadership and Concrete management team updated and engaged on the achievement and delivery of financial targets and strategies.
  • Own the numbers - Ensure the Concrete GM and management team understand budgets/ targets and share the ownership in delivering results
  • Leverage financial insights to improve risk awareness, tactical decision making and integrate performance management
  • Provide sound commercial and analytical support to Concrete operations to deliver profitable and sustainable growth across the region including determining cost-effectiveness of growth strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver operating budgets and forecasts for the VIC and SA Concrete businesses in accordance with Region Leadership's and Group requirements
  • Help manage capital expenditure processes for VIC and SA Concrete. Ensure capital applications have robust business case justifications and large capital projects are managed to ensure cost and time
  • Identify value-adding opportunities in revenue generation and cost savings through the application of insightful financial analysis tools.
  • Partner with the credit and sales team to control customer credit arrangements in accordance with Company policy
  • Assure compliance with financial reporting and control requirements, and flag any controls issues to the Finance GM in a timely manner
  • Adhere to reporting and control frameworks, engaging operating teams where necessary

Aligned to your career goals? Feel you can add value? Ideally, we would like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Commerce, Business, Finance or Economics;
  • Professional membership in either CPA or CA;
  • Experience providing expert advice on financial outcomes pertaining to end to end sales and operations in large and complex industrial or manufacturing businesses;
  • Experience in planning, managing, and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework;
  • Experience in databases and reporting tools (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Cognos an advantage);
