We're looking for a talented Cloud Developer in either Sydney / Melbourne or Brisbane.

What you’ll be doing

As a member of our Developer team, you’ll be responsible for designing and deploying cloud-based solutions using GCP technologies, with best practices and security embedded throughout.

A Kasna Cloud Developer builds scalable and highly available applications using Google-recommended practices and tools that leverage fully managed services. This individual has experience with cloud-native applications, runtime environments, developer tools, and next-generation databases. A Professional Cloud Developer also has proficiency with at least one general-purpose programming language and is skilled at producing meaningful metrics and logs to debug and trace code.

You’ll bring your extensive cloud and development background along with your expert consulting skills, to a company where we strive to make a difference to our clients, whilst at the same time providing a great modern workplace for you to thrive.

The types of projects include :

  • Building best practice, gitops style CI/CD pipelines
  • Creating GCP infrastructure according to Best Practices
  • Developing cloud native solutions using serverless and managed products such as Functions/Lambdas, autoscaling, high-availability, APIs/Microservices, NoSql, BigData, etc.
  • Working with other consultants to solve complex software and automation problems such as IaC
    • Developing a diverse range of cloud-based solutions such as:
    • Data-streaming pipelines using Dataflow
    • gRPC/RESTful services on GKE
    • Automation tools using GCP SDKs/ CLI
    • Advanced release management such as Canary Rollout, A/B testing, Blue/Green deployments and advanced CI/CD pipelines
    • Digital channel integrations using Chatbots (Dialogflow), NoSQL (Firebase/Dynamo) and Contact Centre AI (Google’s ML APIs such as Vision, Speech to Text, NLP, etc.).

If you’re the right person for us, you’ll have experience with:

  • GCP Certification, or hands-on Cloud experience 3+ years
  • Strong experience with at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Go, NodeJS or Python)
  • Experience developing and supporting cloud-based services
  • Experience with messaging - any Java MQ/Kafka/PubSub/SNS/SQS
  • Experience with any scripting language - NodeJS/Jinja/YAMLKnowledge of Infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Deployment Manager, KCC, and/or Terraform
  • Code Management System - GitHub, BitBucket or Gitlab
  • Containerisation technologies - Docker, Kubernetes & Istio
  • Able to build CI/CD pipelines with best practices and tools
  • Design highly scalable, available, and reliable cloud-native applications
  • APIs (REST desirable, SOAP nice to have)
  • Knowledge of Microservices
  • Build and test applications
  • Deploy applications
  • Integrate Google Cloud Platform services
  • Manage application performance monitoring.
