We are currently seeking applications from Electrical Estimators for an exciting opportunity with a leading HV/renewable energy contractor based in Adelaide. This role has been created after a very strong start to 2021. The client is offering a permanent opportunity and a comprehensive training/development path. The ideal candidate will possess electrical estimating experience within the renewable energy sector; with the client offering training to develop knowledge and capabilities across HV infrastructure.

Reporting to the Bid & Tender Manager, this role will be responsible for the effective delivery of estimation services through the preparation, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery of tenders to maximize the probability of securing profitable electrical service and construction projects. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • establish the technical and commercial requirements of the tender and communicate that to the team
  • develop accurate and competitive pricing for all tenders
  • liaise with customers and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication during the tender life cycle
  • Work with the scheduler to develop an accurate project program to support the tender
  • coordinate the completion and review of the tender

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Have previous estimating experience with the renewable energy or infrastructure sector
  • Experience in estimating HV infrastructure projects (including substations) - desirable but not essential
  • Either tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or significantly experienced electrical tradesperson, specifically in the High Voltage industry
  • Have existing relationships with Australian utilities, regulators, and renewable clients
  • Familiar with the design and construction of high voltage infrastructure
  • Be an excellent communicator (oral and written) with strong stakeholder management skills, focused on building and maintaining relationships
  • Have commercial and financial business acumen and the ability to access risk
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and exceptional attention to detail
