About our Client

The organization also delivers primary health care services to the people in regional areas. About the role

This position will, under the executive leadership of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, lead the Corporate Services portfolio to support the organisation’s programs, services and operations in delivering high quality culturally appropriate client centred health services. This position is responsible for the senior leadership, direction, management and coordination of the Corporate Services portfolio including the areas of:

  • Human Resources;
  • Work Health and Safety;
  • Quality & Compliance;
  • Communications; and
  • Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and effectively manage portfolio areas through providing supervision and support to managers and staff in the delivery of effective, integrated and safe services in accordance with the organisation’s strategic direction and in line with best practice standards.

Key Criteria

  • Demonstrated excellence in collaborating with others to lead and deliver high quality services that contribute to strategic objectives through effective management of human, financial and physical resources, preferably in health or community services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from an historical and contemporary perspective, including the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Extensively developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability liaise and network with a range of stakeholders as well as effectively advocate for, and articulate the interests of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and evaluate the effectiveness of programs together with an understanding of the principles of quality management as it relates to accreditation, compliance and governance.
  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, business, human services or health and/or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior management role, preferably in the health field.
  • The Director Corporate Support role is a Specified position. Applicants for a specified position must provide one written reference from an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander referee to support their ability to meet selection criteria 2 above.
  • It is a condition of employment that all employees are holders of a current and valid ‘blue card’ or Working with Children Check. Employment cannot continue where your ‘blue card’ is disqualified.
  • Possession of a current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence.
  • Commitment to work within the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control including a willingness to develop the leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
  • Ability to use Microsoft products and the ability to use or willingness to gain proficiency in the client information management systems.
