This role is the finance business partner to the General Manager of Product and Devices and the General Manager of Sales, as well as their leadership teams along with support for the General Manager CLM, supporting them in their role as owners of the prepaid P&L to understand and drive financial performance and enhance product, channel and segment profitability.

The role is responsible for business casing & decision support, performance reporting, budgeting & forecasting, insight generation and the assessment and commercial approval of tactical market activities. The role needs to deliver its responsibilities within the context of strong partnering relationships with the prepaid management team.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Provide a vision for the prepaid FBP team, determining the key strategic initiatives that need to be undertaken by the team to best support stakeholders and optimize business profitability
  • Lead, motivate and develop the members of the Prepaid FBP team, including defining key partnering relationships, strategic goals and roles & responsibilities for each team member and coaching & supporting them in the achievement of these goals
  • Lead the development of the annual prepaid budget, working closely with stakeholders within CBU and finance.
  • Track business performance against the budget, including the preparation of a monthly rolling forecast, supporting the Prepaid and Finance leadership teams in an understanding of weekly and monthly performance results, key performance risks, and actions that could be taken to address them.
  • Act as Process Owner for all Prepaid inputs into the monthly VHA management, KPI and shareholder reporting packs.
  • Using visualisation tools such as Qlik, develop KPI dashboards, metrics and capability for measuring detailed prepaid business performance, supported by insightful commentary and analysis.
  • Working with the senior finance manager – Profitability and Insights to find improvements in all areas of prepaid activity, including sales quality, device, product & channel profitability, customer lifetime value, and careful management of all cost structures. Also working to embed profitability measures and culture within Prepaid processes and teams.
  • Proactively develop and share insights aimed at enhancing our understanding of prepaid customers and the prepaid business.
  • Support the Commercial GMs and their team to make the best possible commercial decisions. Prepare, review and present financial models, business cases and post implementation reviews in relation to new products, channel commissions, tactical market activities, CLM campaigns and other key areas of prepaid activity. Covering brands such as Vodafone, Kogan and Lebara.
  • Provide input into business decisions supported by relevant financial and non-financial data, challenging assumptions and the status quo in order to drive improved business results. Ensure decision making governance processes are followed.
  • Monitor the attachment rate, customer population and margins of accessories and insurance products.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, passion and a drive to improve the business in everything you do.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years finance experience.
  • CPA/CIMA/CA or equivalent.
  • Proven team leadership, coaching and development capability; able to motivate the team to deliver high quality, accurate outputs often to tight timelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management capability, able to influence and steer actions and decision making at Exec level. Can negotiate and resolve competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, can succinctly summarise results and provide commentary for review at Exec and Board level.
  • Experience in process improvement and process excellence.
  • Align organisation culture with business strategy, in particular customer focus and employee engagement.
