About Them
Early Childhood Management Services (ECMS) have been providing high quality and inclusive early learning and care for Melbourne children, families and communities for more than 22 years. Their almost 70 kindergartens and childcare centres now touch the lives of 6500 children across Melbourne each week. With a vision or every child to realise their right to a strong foundation for lifelong success, they currently have a requirement for a Head of Risk & Compliance to join their team.

About the Role
As Head of Risk and Compliance you will be responsible for strategically evolving, managing and implementing the enterprise and service level risk and compliance management system. In doing so you will work collaboratively across the organisation with a wide range of stakeholders to assist them in implementing the risk management system in their area of the business. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will actively participate and contribute more broadly to the development and delivery of the organisational strategy to drive improved performance in all areas. Specifically your focus will be to:
Lead and manage a team of professionals to deliver outstanding service in their area of responsibility with emphasis on collaboration and outcomes that empowers others Oversee the design, development and evolution of the Risk management System, to ensure risks are identified and mitigated within the risk appetite of the Board. This would be well structured, encompass a robust internal audit approach, regular review of policy and procedure, education and training of employees and an ongoing continuous improvement mindset on how things can be done differently and better Hold accountability for the annual compliance program at both an organisation and functional level, to be abreast of changing legal and regulatory obligations, provide practical guidance and advice to those responsible for compliance activities and monitor sufficiently to ensure such activities are completed and any non-conformances identified and addressed in an appropriate fashion Provide leadership to the executive team in delivering a Quality and Safety framework that aligns with the strategic goal of becoming a sustainable organisation that also includes the voice of the customer being the communities and families they serve Inform the business through effective reporting mechanisms, providing timely and useful data, reports and analysis that aid decision making as it relates to Risk and Compliance Build, manage and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups through proactive engagement and visibility across the organisation and with each of these key groups About You:
Previous experience in a comparable Risk and Compliance role at executive level or reporting to executive level. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing risk management systems in a medium to large multi-site environment. Tailoring the approach for different levels within the organisation. Deep experience in developing highly functional teams and an evolved understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses that impact upon team work. Experience implementing cultural change and translating values into tangible behaviours. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of professional staff to deliver a customer service oriented approach to risk and compliance at scale. Ability to analyse and evaluate functional performance and to use evidence to inform decision making and identify learning and improvement opportunities. A working knowledge of relevant legislation
