About the role

This role will ensure the introduction or change of Technology Service activities are well managed and within risk appetite by focusing on the execution of operational risk framework requirements and embedding an effective risk culture across the division and other platforms.

Current programs of focus are:

  • Migration of Applications to Cloud Platforms
  • Network Transformation
  • Employee Digital Experience Transformation
  • Cyber Security Transformation

Key responsibilities

  • Provide input into the Technology Risk in Change framework ensuring it is fit for purpose, embedded into existing project management frameworks and will be sustainable in the long term
  • Represent the 1LoD on change projects to ensure risks are appropriately identified and addressed whilst ensuring business objectives are met
  • Ensure Projects meet the minimum requirements for managing operational risk in Projects
  • Assess the impact of projects on the organisations risk profile
  • Assist projects with control design and implementation including monitoring the implementation of controls and alignment to KRIs
  • Provide 1LoD input to issue prioritisation and remediation, undertaking incident management and risk reporting for projects as required
  • Assist projects with regulatory obligations and drive regulatory engagements (domestic and international)
  • Embed an effective risk culture and champion the importance of effective risk management practices including establishing a risk aware and safe escalation culture within projects across 1LoD and 2LoD

Capabilities & Experience

You will need to demonstrate a blend of technical and business knowledge, show experience in working a diverse range of technologies and evidence the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.

Primarily we are looking for champions to drive our risk culture through easy and effortless experiences. The candidate must have a passion for risk, excellent communication skills and the flexibility to thrive in a fast- paced collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Extensive Operational Risk experience within financial services, including major project or program experience within the Australian financial services industry
  • Extensive practical experience with project risk management frameworks and operational risk disciplines
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment as well as key legislation impacting on business activities in the financial services sector
  • Understanding of operational processes, business complexities and interdependencies
Qualification/s required

Tertiary qualifications in Technology, Law, Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or equivalent.
