How will I help?

As a Principal Infrastructure Technical Lead, you will be working in Service Excellence & Delivery team within the Service Management portfolio. Your major focus and accountabilities will revolve around the Splunk ES capability although a wider range of technical experience is also required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide specialised Splunk ES ‘SME’ support for the Westpac Splunk ES SaaS service and technical assistance on major issues and incidents to ensure issues are resolved within a timely manner
  • Evaluate and provide expert advice in the implementation of Splunk Enterprise Security within the Westpac Group
  • Accountable for the stability and availability of Splunk ES SaaS on premise technology infrastructure, for guiding capacity planning, and for monitoring and driving improvements to performance to ensure the stability and availability of technology infrastructure services to the business
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to evaluate if service requirements can be defined in terms of existing or new services to ensure user requirements are understood and appropriately translated into infrastructure requirements
  • Provide input into the development of technology strategies, standards and governance procedures to support the development of effective strategy, standards and procedures
  • Plan, review, and critique and deliver major proposed changes as required to ensure successful implementation of new data sources

What do I need?

  • Extensive relevant IT industry experience with at least five years in a highly technical role supporting multiple technologies with a dedicated focus on Splunk Enterprise Security
  • Certification to ‘Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin’ is mandatory
  • SME knowledge of Splunk SaaS (ES and Core)/data acquisition and dashboard visualizations/predictive capabilities
  • Extensive experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Provide level 3 (Technical Leadership) support for the Westpac Group Splunk ES Implementation Program
  • Pipeline and Release Train Prioritization, Capacity planning and scheduling aligned with strategic technology architecture planning.
  • Troubleshoot platform, network and technology incidents or problems escalated from Level 2 support
  • Expert knowledge in one or more relevant infrastructure domains with a broad understanding of multiple infrastructure technologies supporting Splunk SaaS
  • Expert analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills
  • A firm understanding of a financial services operating environment and core applications and products desirable
