About the Department

This role sits within our rapidly expanding Engineering Matrix. The Engineering Matrix is an internal business line that is the central resourcing pool for a number of projects throughout the business. Staff sitting in the Matrix have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of projects, and technologies, all while enjoying the safety and security of a permanent position with an active focus on your personal development.

Your New Role

The Technical Lead is responsible for the overall project's technical solution and provides technical direction and advice across the team. You will have a close working relationship with the Project Manager and this role will see you overseeing the design, development, integration and delivery of the technical solution. Ensuring all the technical and engineering designs meet the system requirements. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the development of requirements as Leidos has responsibility of the platform and all that it encompasses

The technical Lead will be supported by a technical team, who will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preparation and development of technical plans, design and engineering documents;
  • Contributing to the design of, and implementation of the Prototype, Development and First of Type Servers;
  • Assembly of hardware and quality assurance; and
  • Develop test acceptance plans, and conduct Verification & Validation activities

Exposure to some or all of the technologies below is desirable:

  • Splunk Enterprise
  • Windows 10/Defender and Docker Enterprise
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV-1 level Australian security clearance.

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also have skills in:

  • Project Delivery
  • Defence Infrastructure, Defence Systems
  • Deployed ADF Systems, Deployed networks and interfaces, Tactical devices and interfaces, BMS / C2 systems
