Coles’ Export vision is to build a global agri-foods business and to become the leading exporter of Australian meat to Asia. The Export team is a small dedicated team focussed on the further development of our Export strategy and commercial operations with the immediate focus on expanding our presence in China.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the General Manager of Exports you will be a Senior Leader in the Coles Exports team, with accountability for delivering our long term fresh food exports strategy, achieving ambitious growth targets and driving key commercial outcomes for our Global fresh foods export business.

You'll also:

• Be responsible for managing and developing a high performance trading team.
• Build partnerships with a Global network of Wholesale and Retail customers in 40+ countries, including China, with support from our dedicated Coles Shanghai team.
• Work closely with your peers in Exports and other Senior Leaders within Coles, to deliver strategic objectives.
• Interact and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders; including the Leadership team of the Coles' Fresh Food Business Units, functional leads in Marketing, Finance, Legal, Strategy, Operations and Risk & Compliance.

Good things you'll need

A passion for the Australian Agriculture sector and a desire to leave a long-lasting impact on Australia's Fresh Food industry!

You'll also need:

• Prior experience in commercial sales and production in one or more of the following categories: Beef, Lamb, Pork and Fresh Produce.
• A strategic mindset and prior experience in strategy and/or senior commercial roles.
• Strong influencing skills, demonstrated through previous senior roles held within a large cross-functional organisation.
• Exposure to Global trading.
• Resilience with demonstrated leadership capabilities, ensuring your team succeeds in a complex and ever-changing external Global market environment.
• Multi-lingual capabilities are highly favourable.
