The Workplace Branch is focused on creating a more consistent workplace experience across the cluster, further enabling collaboration, and consolidating our property footprint in line with NSW Government accommodation policy along with enabling flexibility and choice across the portfolio.

The Opportunity

An exciting new opportunity now exists as Director Real Estate within our Workplace Branch.

You will input into the development and implementation of Transport’s portfolio and accommodation strategy for office and operational sites which includes leased and freehold properties, to ensure that TNSW’s property requirements are met for the short, medium, and longer term.

Key responsibilities include leading negotiations with landlords directly and in partnership with Property NSW to ensure strong commercial outcomes for TfNSW, and ensures that the day-to-day management and forecasting of leasing and make good budgets, portfolio systems and data and reporting to meet organisational and compliance requirements.

Leading the Workplace Real Estate team to deliver the best outcomes for the Transport clusters accommodation portfolio.

About You

You are a collaborative and talented leader in the strategic management of leased and freehold properties in a large and diverse property portfolio with 10+ years’ experience. You know how to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively with leaders and project managers to drive outcomes.

You will pride yourself on always being a step ahead, anticipating and addressing potential issues before they arise. You excel in your communication and presentation skills and have proven experience operating in a complex customer centric environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Commercial and Lease Contract law
  • Proven experience in managing outsourced providers with the ability to negotiate leasing agreements
  • Keep up to date with the range, pace and complexity of information and knowledge required to deliver quality service

*This role will require travel within regional NSW*
