How will I help?

As the Head of Operational Risk – Group Functions & Services (GFS), you will provide the combination of individual contribution and senior team leadership needed in order to meet the Operational Risk function’s oversight, insight and control responsibilities for the aligned Divisions.

Broadly, the role is to provide leadership and stakeholder engagement on behalf of Operational Risk to ensure compliance with the Operational Risk Management Policy and Framework and support the Divisional Chief Risk Officer (CRO) influence a consistent 3 lines of defence operating model across the Group.

This role will report into the Divisional CRO, GFS and forms part of GFS Leadership Team to drive the ongoing strengthening of Operational Risk Management Framework.

The focus of this role is Group Functions and Services that include: Customer & Corporate Relations (CCR), Risk division, Finance, Human Resources, Group Legal, Company Secretariat, and Financial Crime, Conduct and Compliance (FCCC).

What do I need?

The successful candidate will have extensive Risk Management expertise, this could come from Line 1 or Line 2. Ideally you will bring this experience within the banking sector, however wider financial services and consulting background will also be advantageous. You have an understanding of risk concepts, frameworks, policies, and procedures, particularly those pertaining to operational risk.

You are a born leader and have previously had people reporting directly into you. You are influential in your leadership style and are strategic in your thinking as well as having well-developed judgement that can underpin sound risk-reward decision-making.

Your ability to manage competing priorities are second nature and you enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Bringing exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills you can appropriately elicit information, challenge, and influence stakeholders to enable the successful achievement of outcomes.
