Reporting to the Client Services Associate Director (AD), the Senior Project Manager (SPM) serves as a key leader in successfully managing assigned client matters/relationships through effective coordination and execution of standard eDiscovery engagements as well as complex client projects. The SPM also coaches and develops junior eDiscovery team members, undertakes strategic initiatives and assists the AD and Senior Director of Client Services (SDCS) on tasks and projects as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert in eDiscovery processes (EDRM), workflows, software and tools
  • Serve as the primary liaison with key client representatives with the goal of owning the service delivery relationship
  • Instill confidence with the client and serves as a primary public face of Epiq’s high-quality service delivery offering
  • Consultative approach with clients to provide best practice eDiscovery options and workflows, including TAR to suit matter specific requirements
  • Drive overall client satisfaction through effective planning, coordination, monitoring, problem solving and regular communication regarding client deliverables
  • Develop solid relationships with internal teams (eg: Operations) to ensure seamless client experience
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with global Epiq teams on engagements and internal projects as required
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability to both the client and internal team members, delivering project objectives professionally, with high quality and in a timely manner
  • Identify areas of client opportunity or improvement to processes and workflows and provides options and/or solutions
  • Serve as team leader and role model by assessing and developing employees through continuous training and mentoring and via the delegation of appropriate tasks
  • Undertake internal and client focused strategic projects and initiatives
  • Manage engagement WIP and assists with client invoicing
  • Assist with sales and marketing efforts as required
  • Provide support to AD and SDCS as required
  • Excellent client relationship skills, including the ability to proactively manage client expectations, recognise client needs and apply critical thinking and problem solving to facilitate client requirements
  • Acts with a sense of urgency; takes the initiative on tasks and activities; identifies what needs to be done and takes action before being asked; goes beyond what is normally required in a situation; maintains focus by avoiding or overcoming roadblocks
  • The ability to make well informed, effective and timely decisions, sometimes requiring negotiation and conflict management skills and perceives the impact and implications of these decisions
  • Communicates in a clear, concise and organised manner highlighting the critical points; adjusts messaging appropriately to suit the audience; ensures understanding through active listening and seeking input from the client; addresses and interprets questions and points from others with appropriate responses
  • Develops matter/project plans; translates requirements and objectives into tasks; allocates resources and delegates activities accordingly; effectively manages time to achieve deadlines and budget; monitors WIP and manages time and cost issues proactively with the client; handles multiple demands and competing priorities successfully
  • Bachelor degree in law, computer science, business or equivalent
  • Solid experience in similar role at a law firm, professional services firm or bureau (7 years +)
  • Excellent understanding of eDiscovery frameworks (EDRM), protocols, workflows and best practices
  • Strong experience in Relativity including Relativity analytics and TAR
  • Experience working with client stakeholders and senior management (local and global)
  • Experience in Brainspace would be an advantage
