We're looking for a Director to lead the work of our AgricultureUnit and partake in a range of projects including market studiesand inquiries, investigations of alleged breaches of the CCA, andindustry engagement to help the sector better understand theirrights and responsibilities under the CCA.

Our Agriculture Unit was established to examine competition andunfair trading issues in agricultural supply chains with a view toimproving enforcement and compliance with the Competition andConsumer Act 2010 (the Act).

The Agriculture Unit has three main objectives:

  • identify key agricultural supply chain issues for enforcement focus, investigation and potential court action
  • conduct market studies or formal inquiries into the competitiveness of agricultural supply chains
  • promote industry awareness about competition, fair trading and consumer law issues, including codes of conduct, collective bargaining and the ACCC’s consultation processes.

The successful applicant will:

  • manage a team of people responsible for the work of the Unit, including to supervise and develop the performance of staff
  • manage investigations, market studies and inquiries into competition and fair trading matters in the agricultural sector, including to develop suitable solutions to issues and persuasively argue the case of these
  • ensure the delivery of high quality documentation, reporting and communication with senior managers and Commissioners of the ACCC
  • play a lead role in liaison with relevant government and industry stakeholders.

Salary: $123,969 to $145,280 per annum (plus 15.4%superannuation)
