Job Introduction

BritBox is a joint venture between BBC Studios and ITV Plc, and following successful launches in the US, Canada and the UK, BritBox has recently launched in Australia.

This is an exciting role to support the growth of BritBox in Australia and lead business development activity to extend distribution reach and build successful commercial partnerships. You will be comfortable doing analysis, using data to form insights and can also execute on business plans.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Country Manager in all areas of business development including; commercial, distribution, partnerships and other opportunities to accelerate growth in BritBox
  • Assess and build business cases to support investments in platforms and partnerships designed to grow the BritBox business
  • Be a guiding force on overall Britbox performance working with marketing, content and finance to find ways to improve subscriber take up, engagement, as well as retention and churn.
  • Be able to advise on allocation of budget based on best use of assets and resources
  • Use data, and analysis to provide strategic insight, research, business modelling and recommendations on development opportunities
  • Hands on with Excel, can develop financial models to analyse options and support business decision-making
  • Hands-on with PPT to create clear, concise presentations that aren’t necessarily beautiful but do the job in explaining strategic options to senior stakeholders and be able to present plans to local and international teams
  • Project manage the end-to-end delivery of business development plans from initial research, through to planning and execution and assessment of success of the initiative
  • Building relationships with other key departments across the wider BritBox business including Product, Editorial, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Data and Insights
  • Own the day-to-day working business relationships with external partners such as Telcos and ISPs, and other partners to drive business outcomes that deliver the most impact
  • Assess commercial terms, review contractual agreements, take on the day-to-day responsibility of partnership relationships including partner meetings, briefings and reporting
  • Assist with Budget submissions, medium to longer term business plans and strategic projects
  • Working with marketing to manage the commercial assessment of tactical promotional offers

The key relationship will be with:

  • Work closely with the Country Manager of BritBox Australia,
  • Head of Content and Editorial
  • Senior Commercial Analyst and
  • Partner Marketing roles in the local team
  • BritBox International contacts in Commercial Strategy, Product, Data and Insights
  • Legal
Are you the right candidate?

Knowledge and Skills

  • Relevant experience in commercial or consulting roles
  • Customer focussed and commercially minded
  • Excellent communications skills and you know your way around a useful PPT
  • You know how to get the job done, work with lots of cross functional teams while maintaining positive relationships
  • You’re used to working under pressure, can set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of the media, digital product and content landscape
  • Must have an interest in and a passion for television particularly British TV
  • Experience working through commercial contract terms, any negotiation experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Streaming and Subscription based business would be a benefit
  • Experience within a start-up or high growth businesses would be helpful but not required
  • Project Management skills are required
