JOB DESCRIPTION


We are seeking a highly experienced Planner for government and institutional clients across Transport, Energy, Defence and Water projects.


As our Lead Planner you will be responsible for influencing, implementing and advising our clients to help them deliver outstanding infrastructure.


With experience as a recognised Lead Planner you will be actively involved in strategic roles on our most significant projects and programmes across multiple sectors.


This role will see you:

• Establish and lead the portfolio planning function, establish the foundation strategic schedules and associated tooling for the programme-wide delivery perspective based on the scope of work, contracts and key dependencies. Support the programme delivery management team. Engage and manage key internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish target milestones based on benchmarked industry practice. Monitor key activities and interfaces based on the schedule and advise project management of risks, issues and opportunities
• Utilise key data from the project schedule to prepare visual aids, such as plans on a page and other key forms of strategic planning tools which greatly benefit communication and delivery
• Liaise and support key project disciplines - such as cost, risk, change and information management – to ensure the project benefits from collaboration and teamwork
• Oversee the programme and project schedules on behalf of the project team to ensure that they are maintained, recorded and reported in accordance with the contract and prescribed guidelines
• Provide training and support to scheduling and controls resources teams throughout the lifecycle
• Identify opportunities for continual improvement and facilitate lessons learnt sessions
• Contribute to the update and review of Schedule management process documentation
• Implement Earned Value Analysis

Candidate Specification

What can you bring to the team?
You will be an infrastructure Scheduler and Planner with over 15 years’ experience in multi-discipline teams across Transport, Energy, Defence and Water projects. With relevant tertiary qualifications you will have proven skills in Primavera P6, and experience managing schedules on large programmes across the infrastructure sector in both design and construction phases.

You will bring and establish positive relationships from a range of clients and project partners in NSW. Your experienced in leading high performing teams coupled with advanced communication skills will assist you in succeeding.

You will be commercially agile, with a working knowledge of key contract requirements, able to identify and mitigate risks, and establish and meet critical deadlines.

With a passion for best practice planning of projects you will be a leader in the use of systems and technology to drive efficiency and accuracy in scheduling and planning activities. Your knowledge of the breadth of available industry software and ability to automate linkage with Microsoft Power Apps and other reporting tools will differentiate you in the market. Experience with forensic delay analysis would be an advantage.

Your experience in external and internal stakeholder management, will see you positively influence the outcome of key decisions.

The ability to prioritise, influence without authority and collaborate is fundamental, substantiated by subject matter expertise in planning / scheduling and a drive for excellence and results.

Prior experience with an engineering, management and development consultancy would be highly valued.
