About the role

A genuine career opportunity, as the designated deputy to the Director, Human Resources to combine specialist workplace relations expertise with broader HR leadership responsibilities.

The incumbent will work closely with the Director, Human Resources, Vice-Chancellor, and University’s Executive team to lead and deliver the University’s workplace relations strategy.

The successful candidate may elect to be based at either the Gold Coast or Lismore campus. This position is offered as a three-year fixed-term appointment. However, there is a pathway to a continuing appointment after the initial term.

About you

We are seeking applications from HR leaders with relevant postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources or Employment Law and extensive experience managing workplace relations matters in a complex environment. Experience in the higher education sector would be advantageous but not necessary for success in this role.

You will have expertise in interpreting and applying employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills that enable you to facilitate effective solutions across a variety of functions. With highly-developed interpersonal, relationship management and conflict resolution skills, you will have proven success engaging and influencing stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
