The Solutions Architect will be working on technologies for Computershare Communication Services (CCS), a group of Computershare.

CCS is a leading global provider of specialised one-to-one communication solutions that integrate print and mail with digital delivery channels. Many of the world’s leading organisations employ our solutions to enhance and maximize the value of their relationships with their customers, members, investors, employees and intermediaries. We are commencing a major technology transformation program and are looking for a Solutions Architect to help us with the solution design and architecture delivery.

You will provide architectural direction to our technology teams and work alongside our Domain and Enterprise architects to implement our architectural strategy. We are a global team and the role works with other solutions architects, application architects, engineering teams, infrastructure providers, and subject matter experts to ensure that solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Deliver Low/Medium/Complex designs for current and future state
  • Help to shape new client propositions, services and products, by owning the design over the life cycle of end-to-end delivery of the solution
  • Work with teams to design high-quality solutions that are innovative, stable and resilient
  • Ensure designs accurately reflect the business requirements in design documentation
  • Review Test Coverage, Implementation Plans, Peer Review and Feedback on design work with colleagues
  • Effectively work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
  • Support the delivery / release all the way through from inception to post production implementation support as required
  • Promote regular review of designs and champion transparency of decision making
  • Manage the level of technical debt to support long-term sustainable development
  • Maintain a good awareness of business strategy, new products, platforms, tools and technologies and keep abreast of the technical strategy of our suppliers
  • Define how controlled assessments of new tools and technology are completed, encouraging the use of Proofs of Concept (POCs) and live trials
  • Uplift delivery capability by educating and mentoring development staff, using a variety of design techniques and ensuring that the team follows good design practice
  • Research emerging technologies/practices and propose improvements and inject new ideas into design whilst making the most of re-use and simplicity in solutions
  • Act as a representative in dealings with global architecture group and facilitates communication across global and regional teams
  • Significant experience of application development within a complex enterprise context and with architectures spanning multiple technologies
  • Experience as an architect or in a role that requires significant architecture interaction
  • Experience in using and implementing agile methodologies
  • Experience of influencing at all levels, from delivery team to Senior Management
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data, and present it in accessible formats
  • Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges
  • Self-motivated and can use own initiative to recommend innovative solutions
  • Able to give advice, mentor and pass on knowledge
  • Curious and continuous learner. Investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts
  • Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology or related discipline

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with digital customer experience, messaging platforms and Customer Communication Management software, such as Twilio, Sendgrid, OpenText and Quadient is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Financial Services (Mortgage or Banking Services) industries and markets is highly regarded
  • Previous experience providing technology solutions for essential and regulatory communications is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in and supporting global business units with in-house solutions
  • Previous experience working on large system integration projects
