EL 1 - Deputy Director Contract Development

The Role:

Supply Chain Branch (SCB), within Joint Logistics Command (JLC), is seeking an experienced Project/Contract Manager to join the team.

The role is to be the Commonwealth lead on SCB procurement activities and instruct an integrated project team on strategic context, the purpose, opportunities and challenges associated with each of the contracts and tender. You will have the opportunity to build upon your skills and experience in a wide range of contracting administration and project roles.

Project management experience is highly desirable.

The successful candidates will enjoy working in a dynamic team environment, engaging with diverse stakeholders, using initiative to solve problems, and developing advice for senior leaders. This position is located at Victoria Barracks in Melbourne, VIC.

The Directorate of Supply Chain Commercial Services (DSCCS) within SCB provides whole of branch procurement delivery and advice for current and future contracts both internal and external to SCB.

Our Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess skills and experience in managing complex technical projects – both personally and leading an integrated project team.

This experience will include project governance and assurance. In addition the candidate will have a detailed knowledge of procurement and contracting processes, as well as the demonstrated ability to develop detailed plans for each activity.

The candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and customer engagement skills, enabling them to work with a wide range of stakeholders spanning Defence and Industry.

This position requires the capacity to think strategically, identify opportunities and prioritise effort - and therefore requires high levels of organisational skills, self-drive and initiative.
