This position is responsible for leading and managing the planning, coordination and implementation of internal and external communication for the Local Health District. What you'll be doing The role of the Director, Strategic Communications and Media is to lead and manage the planning, coordination and implementation of internal and external communications for the Local Health District (LHD) in line with the District’s Strategic Directions. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving community relations and understanding of health issues through media channels, including building on the LHD and facilities brand and reputation.
How to Apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. Appropriate qualifications in public relations or journalism and/or extensive experience in media management and public relations or journalism. Experience in managing and marketing of events and VIP visits. Experience in developing and launching media campaigns through a variety of media, community and government organisations. High level written communication skills and experience in production of written communications including media releases and newsletters. Demonstrated effective liaison and communication with a wide range of stakeholders from Senior Government Officers to members of the public. Demonstrated understanding of major issues in the health service and health service delivery. Experience in risk analysis and formulation of appropriate responses Demonstrated experience in managing a team of staff, ensuring team cohesion, managing and mentoring. Need more information?
