We are seeking a tenacious Head of Account Management who is a strong leader and has a track record of motivating and empowering teams to achieve commercial success, as well as creating processes to ensure account management meets a consistent standard throughout the team and to a diverse set of clients.

This role will manage and oversee activities of the entire account management team and is responsible for assigned account targets and sales quota for the full team. You will proactively guide the business’s strategic account planning processes and develop performance goals, sales targets, and critical milestones for weekly/monthly and annual periods.

The Head of Account Management is also tasked with building strong and long-lasting relationships with clients through the creation of long-term planning and understanding. This is also achieved through the establishment of a solid understanding of the market in order to realize how best to retain and cross-sell to existing clients.

The successful candidate will have experience working with SaaS-based products with a strong understanding of the sales process, in order to ensure that the account management function can work effectively. You will have significant commercial experience, combining strong team management skills.

This role is not an “active” selling role, with personal sales targets. It is a sales leadership position.

  • Ownership of the full account management and renewal process for a team revenue stream of over $50 million and a team new sales wins target.
  • Management and development of Senior Account Managers and a team of three Phone-Based Client Managers.
  • Accountable for the account management and client management teams, as well as overseeing many accounts and building relationships with key identified customers in the segment to assist the sales team to achieve their renewal and sales targets.
  • Strong Salesforce experience and ability to leverage technology to advance our sales enablement capability.
  • Creating and refining processes to monitor performance, manage workloads and identify additional streams of revenue and upselling opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales and other relevant Senior Leadership Team members along with other key internal stakeholders on achieving retention and growth targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, Legal and Product teams to develop joint business plans that drive long-term growth.
What you'll need:
  • 10-15+ years of experience in a similar role, nurturing Sales teams, preferably in Head of Account Management style of role or equivalent.
  • Proven track record as an experienced sales, and people, leader. This includes coaching, guiding and mentoring sales teams to achieve best results for team and company.
  • Experience with technology / SaaS-based products and a strong understanding of the sales account management approach and methodology.
  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to influence commercial opportunity.
  • Excellent relationship skills and the ability to forge solid connections at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven track record in managing and developing high performing teams.
  • Thrive on a results-focused environment and making data-informed solutions.
