To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams is looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to implement a contract management framework across the organization.

What the role entails
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead the preparation, initiation, management, close-out, extension, and renewal of critical contracts.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the role involves:

  • Creating, communicating and implementing a contracts management framework across the organisation, leading a cross-functional company-wide contract management team and ensuring that their roles and responsibilities are well understood and agreed upon by stakeholders;
  • Being directly responsible for creating and updating a Contract Management Plan for each Critical Contract, reporting to the Head of Procurement and senior executives on a regular basis or as required from time to time;
  • Conducting regular Critical Contract reviews, ensuring that non-performance issues are clearly communicated to suppliers and that action plans are effective in resolving them;
  • Leading the activities relating to the extension or renewal of Critical Contracts, or termination as required;
  • Ensuring that suppliers under contract are fully compliant to legislative, regulatory, contractual, social and commercial requirements, in accordance with the requirements described in the Supplier Due Diligence Procedure.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications, preferrable in Law, Purchasing or Commerce, or an MBA;
  • A minimum of five years of senior contract management responsibility with quantifiable results in contract negotiation, administration and/or management;
  • Proven experience implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance;
  • Outstanding leadership skills: inspiring interpersonal effectiveness to lead teams, train talent and implement change; willing and able to be a “doer” and “influencer”;
  • Ability to articulate thoughts into clear and concise written and verbal communication;
  • Ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the organization and external suppliers.
