KBR have recently been awarded several significant projects in Sydney and we are expanding our team. We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Director to join our KBR team in Sydney. With long term projects in the pipeline, this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of specialists.

The role of the Construction Project Director is to take the lead and report to KBR’s Leadership team for planning, directing and coordinating the programme development of construction / infrastructure project activities.


Liaise with clients, government authorities, project stakeholders and end-users.

Manage design engineering consultants and contractors including trades to ensure project success

Identify risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies to maintain key project milestones and completion date, including any required negotiation with client and subcontractors

Chair programme review workshops with project team and stakeholders, ensuring compliance to all legal and statuary legislation and standards of performance for quality, safety and environmental performance

Act as Client’s Representative as necessary, overseeing the standards subcontractor to meet require specifications and standards.

The ideal candidate

To be considered as a strong candidate you will have the following

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Project Management

Chartered Project Manager

Graduate Certificate or Higher in in Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical / Structural Engineering

At least 10 years of experience as senior project management; beneficial to have executive Director experience

5 years’ experience of working on national infrastructure construction projects

Experience of delivering construction / infrastructure projects in highly regulated industries

Experience of working at government level to sanction and report on major projects

Creative, highly self-motivated with good management and effective communication skills

Strong project, programme and business organisational and analytical skills
