About us

COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 Accommodation response, including:

  • Mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
  • Emergency Accommodation for people that cannot safely isolate/quarantine in their accommodation.

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, CQV is responsible for the operation of Victoria's Emergency Accommodation program for community members and their close contacts who have tested positive for COVID-19 and where an assessment has concluded that there are no other suitable alternative accommodation options for self-isolation.

Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.

About the role

Reporting to Program Manager, Risk and Business Continuity, the Senior Advisor, Risk and Business Continuity is responsible for the day-to-day support of the programs that address risk management of continuing business activity.

The Senior Advisor, Risk and Business Continuity leads and coordinates the implementation of the Business Continuity Program to mitigate disruption risk in a high risk and complex environment, with a focus on infection prevent and control to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria.

Travel within the greater Melbourne area to COVID-19 accommodation sites may be required. Occasional travel to other locations within Victoria may be required.

This role also includes:

  • Deliver business continuity plans within CQV, actively supporting business units to exercise, review and update their business continuity plans.

Support business units to exercise, review and update their business continuity plans.

Manage CQV's first line business continuity assurance process, reviewing business continuity plans against the requirements outlined in the Business Continuity Policy, and supporting business units to address opportunities for improvement.

Manage and deliver both formal and ad-hoc business continuity training.

Develop, manage and influence key stakeholder relationships to ensure better practice in business continuity.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Knowledge of risk management standards – an understanding of ISO 31000 and 22301 is mandatory for this position.
  • Knowledge of business continuity standards - an understanding of ISO 22313 is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the administration of regulatory frameworks in a complex, risk sensitive environment.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software.
  • Ability to address complex issues confidently with stakeholders, using influence and expert analysis to highlight and address issues, creating shared solutions and sustainable relationships.
  • Previous experience in a leadership position.
  • Qualifications in regulation, compliance and/or enforcement desirable
