About the role

Reporting to the National Safety & Environment Manager for ARC and InfraBuild Construction Solutions, you are an experienced Safety and Training professional, skilled in developing and implementing standards and expectations.

You will be responsible for;

  • Supporting Line Managers to implement and maintain the business’ Safety, Environment and Training Systems
  • Supporting multiple manufacturing and distribution sites across NSW
  • Building capability of Line Leaders to effectively lead safety and training agendas
  • Coordinate safety and compliance training to all personnel
  • Due Diligence Verification assessments
  • Grow relationships with regulatory authorities, manage licenses, consents and other legislative requirements including managing the related systems.
About your experience

You are a high performer with clear understanding of requirements and expectations. A strong communicator who can take ownership of their work and work autonomously as well as part of a team. Passionate about all things safety, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to influence and lead at all levels of the business. You have a pragmatic approach to safety and will be able demonstrate how you have provided practical, fit for purpose safety solutions to business, whilst ensuring that legislative and business requirements are not compromised.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • ICAM or CAPs training desirable
  • Technical expertise in the management and implementation of legislative standards
  • Experience in external authority audits to appropriate Australian standards
  • Relevant experience in heavy industry, manufacturing or transport industry
  • Ability to manage, influence, communicate with all levels of the business, building strong relationships
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and applied problem solving skills.
  • Experience providing guidance and training to improve the level of competency and capability across a workforce

Based at our Newcastle branch in Wallsend Newcastle, this role involves regular travel to multiple regional and metro sites including some overnight stays as required.
