The Victorian Government has committed to providing free kindergarten programs in eligible services in 2021 to support families with the costs of early childhood education and make it easier for women to take up employment opportunities. Subsidies will provide free funded kindergarten programs in eligible sessional services and a fee reduction for children attending a funded kindergarten program in long day care centres. These roles will form part of a team to implement the Government's Free Kindergarten in 2021 commitments. The role will help operationalise the Free Kindergarten initiative, as well as supporting ongoing policy and design work to ensure the effective implementation of this funding.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced policy officer to play a key role in leading the implementation of the Victorian Government's Free Kinder initiative. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment and will able to help shape important aspects of this high profile initiative. The role will involve working with stakeholders across the Department and the early childhood education sector more broadly.
