Job Summary

Job Summary:

Nuance is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the local project delivery team within Professional Services. This position will be responsible for managing the software implementation of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) solutions as an ongoing program of work to a major Commonwealth Government Agency. Maintaining excellent communication with customers and internal project teams across the software development life cycle is a critical aspect of this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, broad experience with managing software development projects and ideally experience working with Telecommunications providers and/or Contact Centre solutions. This position is based in our Brisbane office and may involve occasional interstate travel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of projects to meet customer requirements across the entire software development life cycle
  • Day to day management of the allocated project team resources to ensure successful completion of project milestones
  • Ensure project progress and information is communicated frequently and accurately
  • Creation and maintenance of project resource forecasts and schedules.
  • Ensure strong process adherence by the project team members including time reporting
  • Responsible for maintaining on time achievement of project milestones & budget, and strong focus on the customer which can be at times in conflict with each other.
  • Work with account management to assess customer requests and assist in the creation of SOWs
  • Responsible for adherence to project management standards and processes while maintaining exceptional customer focus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Superior project management skills with solid experience in software development life cycle
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and/or teams across multiple functions. Extremely capable of a high degree of parallelism/multitasking
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate using virtual teams
  • Proven ability to manage test events and defect triage process
  • Understanding of professional services operational metrics such as backlog, funded hours, POC vs deferred hours etc

Education, Training and/or Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have 7+ years experience in project management in multiple areas of IT
  • Must have 3+ years professional services experience
  • Ideally have experience with Sharepoint, Jira and Confluence
  • Ideally have experience with IVR and/or Contact Centre solutions
