  • Senior Executive Band 1 role. Salary ranging from $215,923 to $238,977

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) is seeking a Director, Greener City to support the NSW Place, Design and Public Spaces Group.

As a Director, Greener City in this position, you will lead the development and delivery of strategy by managing several operational responsibilities including financial, human, and physical resources in an operationally effective and efficient manner to facilitate service delivery excellence, whilst positively contributing parklands and gardens in Greater Sydney and Sydney’s key state significant heritage and cultural precincts.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in planning, architecture, economics or urban design
  • An ethical and professional approach to all tasks, acting as a positive role model for all colleagues, inspiring and driving motivation
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team with exceptional communication skills, establishing a culture and support systems that encourage information sharing, learning and communication
  • The ability to undertake objective, critical analysis to draw accurate conclusions, looking for opportunities to provide suggestion for improvement and efficiency
  • Strong organisation, with the skills to plan and prioritise outcomes and respond flexibly to changing circumstances.

Extensive experience in providing strategic insight into urban planning and green space development is highly regarded.
