About The Role
Role Location: ANZ Sydney or Melbourne
Role Type: Permanent, Full time role

As an Associate Director, Sustainable Finance, you will be part of team responsible for ensuring Sustainable Finance (SusFin) globally continues to win new mandates and generate revenue. This role will support ANZ’s SusFin business with technical sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) analytical expertise. Key areas of responsibility will include: sustainability/ESG insights and advice to customers, evaluating customer readiness for SusFin products, supporting origination and execution of SusFin transactions, tracking global sustainability trends and market and regulatory developments, informing internal approaches for development of customer-facing business and contribution to internal policy setting.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Deep experience in sustainability with robust knowledge of ESG and/or Socially Responsible (SRI) standards and trends - for example, from within a consultancy, advisory, insurance, banking or investment management firm, research & analysis, ratings provider, corporate sustainability team or other relevant field/discipline/team
  • Strong network across sustainability/ESG/SRI and/or sustainable finance markets, including relevant industry bodies as well as the community, government and corporate sectors
  • Well-developed customer facing skills, research and analytical skills with a track record in collaboration, including with external industry bodies/partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with particular emphasis on ability to extract relevant information and present in a concise format
  • Interest/passion for sustainability/ESG/SRI and/or sustainable finance; financial services experience is not mandatory but will be viewed positively
