  • Critical leadership role within Aon’s Global Risk Consulting (AGRC) business, a national risk consulting practice that is part of Aon’s Specialties business.
  • Responsible for driving differentiated client value and growth.
  • Position will suit an experienced risk consultant (ideally with Valuations experience).

The Opportunity:

Working alongside AGRC’s existing senior leadership team, the AGRC Director position has responsibility for co-leading Aon’s risk consulting practice (including our valuations practice) in Australia and driving exceptional client value through our risk consulting offering. This is achieved by developing and executing a strategy that aligns with our Aon United strategy, driving strong growth across our consulting solutions, delivering operational efficiencies and ensuring development and engagement of a strong team who are empowered to make a difference at Aon.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Co-lead Aon’s risk consulting practice (known as AGRC) partnering with AGRC’s existing senior leadership team in Australia and globally.
  • Lead Aon’s national valuations business within AGRC.
  • Co-manage AGRC’s P&L, including monthly and quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and other business reporting.
  • Develop and build relationships with Aon’s clients nationally through delivery of value enhancing consulting solutions, including valuations.
  • Engage colleagues and clients across Aon’s entire Commercial Risk, Health and Affinity business to identify and respond to emerging client need through consulting solutions.
  • Leverage the Aon global network, including global AGRC clients, to promote our solutions and identify opportunities to collaborate.
  • Working with the Specialties Sales Director, execute sales and growth strategies to deliver on new business (including aligned revenue) targets.
  • Partnering with Aon’s Chief Client Officer and Chief Growth Officer, execute on Delivering Aon United and new business strategies.
  • Formulate and execute against the group’s marketing strategy; produce thought leadership which positions Aon as a leading risk consultant.
  • Support operational change in order to realise productivity efficiencies across AGRC.
  • Development and adoption of technology enabled consulting solutions; provide scalable consulting solutions to the business.
  • Formulate pricing strategies and lead pricing discipline across the business.
  • Develop strategies to address potential disruption in the consulting business; explore applications for, and monetisation of, automated valuation models.
  • Develop a talent strategy to engage and retain diverse and capable talent; coach and support AGRC colleagues and sponsor career development.
  • Support inclusion and diversity through inclusive leadership which encourages and respects diverse viewpoints.
  • Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships including with clients, insurers, partnerships, associations and internal stakeholders; manage insurer consulting bursaries.
  • As a member of the Specialties senior leadership team, contribute to the formulation of our Specialties strategy, including in respect of strategic investments, development of new products and solutions, people and culture, operations, and sales and growth.

About you:

  • Strong track record of success in consulting business (ideally in risk and insurance)
  • Risk consulting experience (ideally experience in valuations)
  • Aon or industry knowledge
  • Experience in managing and leading high performing teams
  • Experience in engaging and managing complex clients
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements and strong P&L management
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage external/internal relationships and senior stakeholders
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolutions skills
  • Ability to develop and execute strategy
  • Commercially minded and numerically astute
  • Success leading geographically dispersed teams
