About the team

The Infrastructure and Place division is charged with the delivery of an ambitious and once-in-a generation program of public infrastructure works. We are developing and delivering smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places that are valued by our customers and communities.

Sydney Technical Services provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network. We are the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice.

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Project Engineer, with an electrical engineering background, to support the Technical Manager and Project Management team in the delivery and management of large scale, complex, multi-discipline projects within a program of work with defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.

The opportunity sits within the Electrical Engineering team and will primarily be working on electrical projects such as traction substations, distribution substations, high-voltage cables, high-voltage aerial feeders, 1500V overhead wiring and low-voltage installations and supplies.

This is a permanent- full time opportunity based at TfNSW’s new state-of-the-art office at Macquarie Park.

Specific role accountabilities include:

  • Provide engineering support including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design direction and reviews, constructability reviews, testing and commissioning assistance and ensure that design deliverables are met.
  • Deliver all technical tasks to comply with quality, safety and project management / engineering procedures and controls.

About you

This role would be an ideal next step for a qualified electrical engineer looking to further develop their skills across the entire project lifecycle while thriving in an environment of constantly competing priorities and managing these priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Electrical Engineering, Construction, or relevant discipline, and/or equivalent experience working on electrical projects.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in coordinating/interfacing with multiple stakeholders preferred

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is grade 9 ($135,898 - $ 152,204) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
