The Role

To support the rapid expansion of Proofpoint in Asia Pacific and Japan, we are seeking an exceptional leader to take on the newly created role of Threat Protection and Compliance leader.

Proofpoint’s Expansion product line consists of Proofpoint Security Awareness and Training (PSAT); Proofpoint Email Fraud Defence (EFD); Proofpoint Archiving and Compliance. The PSAT and EFD products form part of our Threat Protection platform; the Archiving and Compliance products represent our Compliance platform.

Managing a team of specialists across the three product lines, you will work alongside regional sales leadership to build the go-to-market for these products; to define sales execution strategy along side the regional sales teams; to drive deals for these products; to assist in the sales enablement and knowledge development for the regional sales teams; to manage the overall business and report in detail on progress.

The role will report to the APJ SVP and the Global VP Advanced Technology Sales; in addition there will be a strong coordination line to the Global Head of PSAT Sales; EFD Sales; and Archiving Sales.

  • Build the go-to-market plans for the PSAT, EFD & Archiving products in APJ in collaboration with regional sales management
  • Drive the bookings to meet and achieve targets for the PSAT, EFD & Archiving products across APJ in collaboration with the regional sales teams
  • Lead the team of specialists and ensure they are fully integrated with the regional sales teams
  • Drive pipeline development for the relevant products
  • Establish relevant executive customer and partner relationships
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of company’s competitive positioning in the marketplace
  • Facilitate sales enablement and knowledge of the PSAT, EFD & Archiving products in the regional sales teams
  • Develop close internal relationships with the product teams to influence strategy and roadmaps
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of APJ as a member of the APJ Leadership Team

What you bring to the team

  • Experience successfully leading high performing field sales teams spread over multiple country geography ideally working for a global US vendor in the security industry
  • Ideally have prior experience managing an overlay specialist team
  • Strong knowledge of the security industry
  • Strong knowledge of new and current technologies and trends specifically in the security industry
  • Experience of taking new and innovative products to market
  • Outstanding consultative selling skills and ability to clearly and effectively articulate the company’s value proposition
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to create a business plan, build a strong business pipeline, accurately forecast and close business
  • Experience building demand generation plans with marketing
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to conduct sales presentations and interact effectively with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Strong capacity to influence and collaborate in a matrix environment – comfortable with the dual reporting lines
  • Fluent English, additional languages an advantage
