The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior Procurement professional to take on the role of Procurement Director at Cabrini Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Procurement team that buys critical clinical (Directs) and non-clinical goods (Indirects) and services for Cabrini, while ensuring policies and processes are followed and expenses are cost-effective. This role is key in driving continuous improvement by focusing on customer service and processes that protect Cabrini’s commercial and operational interests.

Cabrini is a member of the Catholic Negotiating Alliance. The Procurement Director is required to represent Cabrini and ensure outcomes from effective collaboration are fully leveraged.

Key Responsibilities

Build positive relationships with external suppliers to negotiate favourable deals and ensure stakeholders receive quality and prompt service at fair market price

Monitoring of contractual arrangements to make sure that suppliers are complying with previously agreed upon terms and conditions

Effective collaboration with other Catholic Negotiation Alliance members

Deliver save targets through in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices along with strong negotiation skills

Ensure risk is managed through familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements

Requirements

Extensive experience in sourcing, purchasing, business, finance and/or procurement

Procurement or sourcing experience in a health-related industry

Strong leadership and mentoring skills to manage a high performing procurement team

Ability to collaborate well with business units and functional partners

Excellent communication skills including ability to “sell” procurement’s value and to operate procurement as a service to the broader business operations
