Project Manager – Local Government Rating System Reform

  • Fixed Term for 3 years

The position of Project Manager, Local Government Rating System Reform, forms part of the Local Government Victoria branch within the Local Government and Suburban Development.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Innovation and Performance, this position will manage the design and implementation of reforms to the Victorian local government rating system. The reforms are from the Government's response to the 2019 local government rating system review. They comprise a mix of legislative reforms to complex administrative changes. The role will project manage the package of reforms and coordinate implementation with local governments and Victorian Government departments and agencies over a period of up to 3 years.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a package of reforms to the local government rating system, while working with staff from Local Government Victoria and other Victorian Government agencies including the Valuer-General Victoria.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support implementation primarily with local governments.
  • Lead and contribute to the design and implementation of key reforms within the project, including policy development.

The successful applicant will have strong project management skills, including creative problem-solving abilities and demonstrated ability to design and implement sub-project packages of public policy reforms in a coordinated way.
